I wrote a couple of days ago about some tips for riding in cold weather, and after the snow this weekend, I started wondering what the normal temperatures are for this time of year. I checked out the averages for Charleston, and the average high in January is 57. Now that sounds more like it.
If you haven’t ridden a bike in Charleston in the winter, it’s actually pretty nice. The city is also taking great strides in developing a bicycle infrastructure as it was recently named a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. You can read more about that here, Charleston – Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community
If you’d like to rent a bike in Charleston, it’s hard to beat Affordabike prices. We have $15 / day rentals so you can afford to take the whole family for a ride around town. Come check them out.
